First impressions Count
I was running late for work the other day and I had to put something in my van before I left. The van is parked next to the clothes line. It seems that as I closed the back door to the van one of my wife’s bras got caught in the door.
I was blissfully unaware of this, until I was driving along the Coast Road near home with this bra flying along behind me a bit like a kite. In a scene not dissimilar from Prescilla Queen of The Desert, but more like John, King of The Coast Road.
It made me think about the importance of first impressions, because as I was driving along, people were probably looking at me and thinking; “Look at that bloke, what a tit.” (bra, tit, get it?) and believe me first impressions are all important. It’s probably me being a bit weird, or a carpet cleaner that makes me look at people’s floors the first thing I do when I walk into someone’s house. My first impression is always going to be of how clean (or dirty) the floors and carpets are. Associating how clean or dirty a person is by looking at their floors is a natural leap to make, although again that might just be a carpet cleaner thing.
No one likes a grub. Let’s be honest. So, you don’t want your friends and family to be thinking dirty thoughts about you, well maybe you do, but not when it comes to your carpets. If first impressions are important to you and let’s face it they are to most people, you need to make sure the first impression of you and your home is absolutely as you would want it to be.
