Love In An Elevator
#commercialcarpetcleaning and #commercialtilecleaning seem to be the flavour of the month in May 2017 at Chem-Dry Far North Coast. We’ve found ourselves at various times during the month cleaning the carpets in motels, cleaning the upholstery in a restaurant and tidying up the tile and grout at a high-end resort. We really enjoy the commercial side of our business. #repeatandreferral business means that we see the same businesses regularly. If you ever want to know which hotel has their mattresses cleaned regularly, just ask your carpet cleaner.
This week just past, we went out to a job at one of our regular #agedcare facilities. This one is spectacular, a gated community with independent living quarters and the most amazing community centre, with pool, gym, café and bar. We hadn’t been into the community centre previously and when the job was rung through, the description just said “one large room.” Apparently the centre manager had said when booking; “It’s not as big as Bunnings.” But that detail had been missed. I couldn’t work out why they had allowed 2.5 hours for the job until I opened the doors. Before me was approximately a square kilometre of carpet. “Oh, and we have a meeting at 10am, so we need it back before then.” The manager suggested as she hurried off to check on something else.
I stood a bit dumbfounded, until the Monday morning haze wore off and I began to think practically. We base our business on solving problems for our customers we make life easier for #propertymanagers, #onsitemanagers, #maintenancemanagers, #headhousekeepers and that is why they use us and use us again and again. We had another van working nearby, so within 30 minutes, I was able to have two vans, two, technicians and two machines, which naturally halved the time the job took.
Chem-Dry Far North Coast has multiple cleaning methods, so we were able to use one which was quick to apply and quick to dry, whilst still achieving an amazing result for our customer. We were just rolling up the cords and cables, when the first of several hundred guests began to arrive. We were gone before 10am and the meeting happened on time.
The other thing that happened this week was an unusual request. Unusual in so much as we hadn’t heard it before, but not so unusual that we couldn’t find a solution for our customer. We clean quarterly the large tiled public areas at a luxury resort on the beach. Whilst we were going about our business and enduring the “You can come and do my place next haha” comments of the old blokes walking past, the General Manager of the hotel asked if we could clean the tiles in the lifts. We’d never done them before but with blocking one off at a time, we achieved the result the customer was looking for.
Love in an elevator? You too might fall in love with #tilecleaning once you see what we can achieve.
