Carpet Cleaning

• Every job is pre-vacuumed with a commercial vacuum cleaner.
• We work around your furniture or help you move it - you choose. However we really appreciate if you move any small / valuable / vulnerable items before we arrive.
• Our carbonated cleaner The Natural™ is sprayed onto your carpets. As the carbonation reacts to push the dirt to the surface it is removed with rotating pads on our powerful buffer.
• The spotting tray is filled with special treatments for stubborn stains. We tackle anything from mascara, chewing gum and orange juice to ink, oil and paint.
• Before we leave we remove any lint or dust off your skirting boards and give most carpets a rake.

Chem-Dry's cleaning products leave no dirt-attracting sticky residue on carpets like some shampoos or Steam Cleaners do. Instead, think of our clean as a refreshing mineral bath for your carpets.

 

Extras:

• Heavy Duty cleaning (hot carbonating extraction) also available if you have a more serious carpet problems such as urine spills, vomit or very dirty/sticky traffic areas

Woollen carpets:

Please note that because wool is a natural fibre, it absorbs dirt/dyes/grease very very well.

The sooner you call Chem-Dry Far North Coast after you have had a spill, the greater the chance of complete removal. If professionally treated within 24-48 hours, most stains will come out of a woollen carpet.

Chem-Dry Protectant

  Daily wear and regular vacuuming automatically remove much of the factory applied protectant. Bring back this defence with Chem-Dry's Protectant, an active product that adds a barrier between the dirt and the carpet fibres. Cleaner carpets last longer and look better.
• Protectant-treated carpets make your cleaning easier.
  It allows you to simply vacuum or wipe off even resistant dirt. Should you get a really tough stain on a Protectant-treated carpet, get rid of it easily with Chem-Dry's Professional Strength Spot Remover. You can buy the Spot Remover and Oil & Grease Remover from us when you book a job.
  
• Our application process is so good it has been patented.
  The Chem-Dry Protectant is co-applied when we clean with The Natural. It is quick and effortless and leaves an excellent shield against new spots and marks. Upholstery Cleaning

• Your sofa / recliner / arm chair is pre-vacuumed with a commercial vacuum cleaner.
• An upholstery pre-spray is applied which helps loosen grease and dirt off the fabric.
• We allow it to dwell a few minutes before we start brushing with a gentle horse hair brush.
• Then the mineral cleaning and extraction is done by our trustworthy Velda. A heavy duty extraction machine with a special upholstery tool.
• We always show special attention to arms and headrests where you generally find the most wear,
  tear and greasy residue.

Leather Cleaning & Restoration

How Do I Know My Leather Is Dirty?

1. Oils and Grease — Body oils from both humans and animals attach and hold onto leather. Hair and hand oils are easily transferred to the head cushions and arm rests of the furniture. Over time these can cause serious damage to the protective finishes found on leather.
2. Atmospheric Soils — Consider the dust that builds up on a coffee table or desk over a week's time. This same dust is being deposited on your leather. Add to this atmospheric pollution, cigarette smoke and the airborn cooking oils from your kitchen.
3. Common Soils — These soils include the common dirt from outside along with sand and fibres from plants. Fibres that naturally are brought in the home by adults, kids and pets.
4. Dyes and Inks — The ink from newspapers can readily be deposited on leather. Clothes such as denims can transfer dye onto leather in a process called dye transfer. The direct ink from a leaky pen or the aspiring toddler artist should not be forgotten.

Tile, Stone & Grout Cleaning

Chem-Dry's Tile & Grout cleaning procedure ensures absolutely fantastic results! Our customers often wonder why they didn't book their clean earlier. If you are curious of an obligation free demonstration and a quote, please mention it when you contact us.

• We start by protecting your surrounding areas such as carpets, skirting boards, furniture etc. Then we vacuum the tiles and apply a cleaning solution. All grout lines are brushed manually before a rotary floor machine takes over to ensure every single tile is cleaned effectively.
• The tiles are rinsed and dried before Chem-Dry's protective Sealer is applied. The sealer prevents dirt and spills from penetrating the porous surface of the tiles and grout. It also makes future cleans much quicker. Just blot fresh spills with a clean cloth or paper towel and wipe off. The sealer continues to protect even after repeated cleans.
• Our process restores your tiled area to almost 100% of its original appearance. Some stains or marks won't come out because they have managed to dye the grout irreversibly. (Oils, red wine, hair dye etc). But Chem-Dry's combination of heat, water pressure and suction normally removes most stains with astonishing results.

 

Dust Mite and Anti Allergen Treatment

• House dust mite allergy is very common and is associated with asthma, eczema and hay fever. These little creatures are found in carpets, soft furnishings and clothing and often cause allergies because we react to proteins in their droppings.
• Dust mites are too small to be visible to the human eye and they thrive in humid climates. This is why they love the damp, warm cosiness in our beds for example. Since we humans routinely shed dead skin cells, dust mites have a feast every night.

Urine Extraction & Odour Removal

Chem-Dry's P.U.R.T.® is a revolutionary product specially designed to break down urine crystals and remove the odour. It shows excellent results both with human urine and accidents caused by pets.

 

Facts about Urine

Urine deposited on carpet, upholstery or on a mattress does not stay there. It sinks, spreads and penetrates fibres and fillings. The actual liquid evaporates when the urine dries but the urine crystals remain intact and become concentrated and pungent. A deodoriser might temporarily mask the smell but the urine odour returns as soon as the area gets wet again.

It is not possible to remove urine or urine crystals with a dry cleaning method. The secret with P.U.R.T.® is that it breaks down the urine crystals until they liquefy.

After that it is possible to extract all traces of the urine and do a proper clean. Please note that the outline of the urine stain is likely to remain visible unless Chem-Dry attends within 24-48 hours of the accident.

Almost all content coming from the inside of a human or an animal body is highly acidic. That's why these fluids (such as urine, faeces, vomit, semen, pus or blood) are likely to leave a contour around its stain unless treated quickly. The best things you can do when an accident like this occur is:

1. Remove the bits
2. DO NOT ADD ANYTHING to the spill other than soda water or tap water
3. Keep damp until we arrive (leave a wet towel on top of it).

What to do in case of Water Damage

• Safety First! If water is in your walls or ceiling, turn off the electricity and remember that a soaked ceiling may collapse and fall.
• Eliminate the source of water. Know where your water shut-off valves are. If this is done quickly you can help avoid major damage.
  
• Remove personal belongings and furniture. Your furniture can bleed, swell and delaminate if left on wet carpet. Water travels under the carpet much further than what we can see on top.

What to do at home in case of Fire damage

• Avoid touching the soot or trying to wash it off. Natural body oils from your finger and hand prints cause the soot to stick. By not touching or trying to clean, you automatically minimise the extent of the fire and soot damage.
  
• Turn off all your electrical items. It's important to realise that soot is a conductor of electricity. This can lead to more damage, a second fire or even loss of life.
  
• Don't forget your fridge. If you need to switch the electricity off please ensure you empty your fridge and freezer. Rotten food can cause very serious contamination problems and the odour is never pleasant.
